Redbud Festival Cook Off...Buna, Texas...February 14-15

The Buna Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the First Annual Buna Redbud Festival Cook Off, scheduled for February 14th and 15th at the Lions' Club Hall in Buna, Texas. For those unfamiliar with Buna, we are a small town of a little more than 2000 residents, home of 11 Texas state basketball championships, the polka dotted house and the Redbud Festival for more than 40 years! We are 35 miles North of Beaumont and about 30 miles from the Texas-Louisiana border.
Entry fee will be $125 per team, with the event being sanctioned by the IBCA with guaranteed payouts of $175, $125 and $75 for each of the three meat categories (chicken, ribs and brisket), plus trophies. Water and electricity will be limited, generators are welcome.

Bumping the thread because we are on for this weekend! Looks like we will have at least 15 teams, which will give the winner an invite to the American Royal, unfortunately my Reps office failed to get me a Proclamation, so we won't be a State cook, but it is going to be fun. If your in need of a place to cook or want to help out in the judging, PM me and come on over to Buna for the weekend.
