West Volunteer Fire Department Cookoff results

Postby limey » Sun Mar 16, 2014 12:09 pm

Great cookoff ( Think there was 125 teams )and very emotional cookoff, Hats off to BigFish BBQ, Bryan is on a roll. He won reserve Grand Champ. He actually tied for Grand Champ but lost on the tie breaker- briskets. Had a great time and cooked some great Que as well. Only second time cooking on the R&O smoker and got a call- 11th brisket. Hats off to Dan (Gator) on the great finishing sauce. Got to meet Phillip (4MFarms), he really has one of the nicest pits around. He put alot of extra touches on this work of art. I hope next year I will get to play some 42 with ya'll. We will put this on the calender for next year.Kind of scary coming home going through the storms, spooky looking clouds.
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!

Thanks Limey, it was great seeing you and Ed again. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster few days, with the OBR presentations to the West VFD, and memories of our BBQ family we lost in the explosion last year. Then to cap it off on a high note like that seemed almost too good to be true...almost like other forces were in play.

It was very close in the end. I did tie with Chris Griffith for GC, however his 5th in brisket beat my 6th in brisket for the tie breaker. That's how close it was. Had a great time once again in this magical town.

Congrats on your call Brotha!!
