worn out and a little smarter. Went to the cookoff and had a great time. I was disappointed that there were only 11 teams, but all great folks. I found out that this is a whole lot more work than chili. One BIG thing I learned was that I need to keep a time log - thought I could wing it, but that didn't work. Everything still turned out pretty good, in spite of my lack of knowledge. Long story short - 2nd in chicken, 4th in ribs and brisket. Reserve GC. Had a blast and will be a little more prepared for next time. Pics are of turn in chicken and ribs. I replaced one rib after the picture was taken. And of course, breakfast fatties. Things were to hectic around brisket turn-in, so that was the only picture of our brisket.
Thanks for the support and encouragement. (ChiliBBQ - kept the consumption of adult beverage way down and glad we did!) BTW, believe it or not, being RGC, we qualified to cook at the Meridian championhip. Go figure!!!!
