Good job and congrats Jeff.
Also congrats to BrisketGrease; you weren't far out of the hunt yourself.

Thanks. That was my best showing yet, at a comp. My first top 3 ever.

Here's a little food picture for ya. I forgot to take a pic of my brisket turn in, but I didn't place, so it didn't matter.

Great turn in products and them ribs look mighty tasty.
One small tip for what it's worth; 90% of judges when judging chicken cut their sample from the breast. Turn the chicken breast to the front of the tray to make cutting the sample easier. Also most folks in general are right handed so if possible turn in the left chicken half which also aids in cutting a sample. I know it sounds nit-pickin but I got the same advice from a great comp cook and it makes a big difference. Just my 2 cents worth.

Never really thought about the small details like that before. Thanks for the info. I'll make sure to do that this weekend at Corsicana

Take a look at the chicken turn in photo on http://www.lonestarbarbecue.com look under resources;" target="_blank although not mine that was a first place chicken.
Best of luck to you in Corsicana; from past results it's a give me you have the cooking down pat. It's the small details that will put you over the top. Hopefully we will cross smoking trails this year and have a chance to shoot the bull.
