Korean Flank Steak Lettuce Wraps

Went for a change of pace. Easy, lazy cook. Took the stock Korean Barbecue sauce and added fresh ground ginger and garlic and used this for the marinade and the drizzle. Nice, but not exciting, lacked a bit of the punch in the nose I like. Should have added some shaved jalapeƱo and maybe fresh ground horseradish or even wasabi; maybe some chili paste or those little red demon dried Asian peppers. Next time! Super tender flank, 10 minutes per side at 300 degrees, finished at 145 internal.

Must have another look in my Asian food shop. I've been to Korea but never found anything I liked food wise, although my wife said she had the best salad she's ever had in Seoul. Korean food is taking off here so I'm just going to try to learn some. Do you recommend the BBQ sauce boots?

Sir Boots, I can relate to something not having the tear duct and sinus agitators but that sho looks larapin to myself. :salut:  next time maybe a good sprinkling of Suckle Busters Jalapeno or Chipotle Gun Powder might help the taste buds. :dont:

Thanks Parts. Russ, I'd have to rate the store sauce as just ok, came from the bullseye market over here in the states (Target) as I was in a hurry. Kinda bland, had to put some spine in it myself. Next time, will just make my own from scratch.

I need to learn how to do some of these Asian dishes instead of my regular cooks - - - I used to do quite a bit of Wok dinners when my first wife and I were married but somehow just got away from it. Closest I've been in a long time was some Jamaican Jerk Sauce Chicken but far from Asian Cuisine. :dont:

Emm I might be able to help you there. Let me think about a nice easy one for ya. I do Thai and Chinese as well as my other stuff. I will pm you when I find something. My fave Chinese is lemon chicken.

Boots I'm not big on sesame oil, I find it too overpowering.

Story of my life, like the time I went to go shoot some golf, but forgot to bring my golf gun.

You would like Chinese style lemon chicken?, I've made a few times, it's really nice. I can post recipe if you want. I have a good Chinese cook book.
