Cola Burgers
I grilled these for dinner tonight. They were really moist and tender and one of those items that will have people puzzled over what you put in it. The kids said this is definitely a keeper recipe!
Cola Burgers
1 egg
1/2 cup cola, divided (diet not recommended)
1/2 cup crushed saltines (about 15)
6 tbsp French salad dressing, divided
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
hamburger buns
In a bowl, combine the egg, 1/4 cup cola, cracker crumbs, 2 tbsp salad dressing, Parmesan cheese, and salt. Add beef and mix well. Shape into 6 1/4 inch thick patties (the mixture will be moist). In a bowl, combine the remaining cola and salad dressing; set aside. Grill patties uncovered over medium-hot heat for 3 minutes on each side. Brush with cola mixture. Grill 8-10 minutes longer or until juices run clear, basting and turning occasionally. Serve on buns.

Those burgers sound really good! You take good pics, Allie, so start freaking your family out by taking pics of the whole process! They get used to it after awhile! Now my family asks if I need a picture of anything before they eat it...

Oh they've seen us taking pics of smoking q in the past. Zach for a while wanted to take pics of every thing he ate.
When I'm cooking on my own, I just don't have time to think about it. Last night, I ran out and started the chimney, then back in to assemble burgers. Back out to put charcoal in grill, then in to grab burgers and turn on fryer, back out to throw on grill. Then in and out cooking fries, checking, turning, and brushing burgers, tearing lettuce, slicing tomatoes, slicing onions. Finally put burgers on platter, set table, and eat. LOL When Les is home, it's a lot more relaxed! He mans the grill and I do the rest.
Here's a leftover burger today:
When Les got home last night, I didn't tell him I tried anything different. He commented on the texture and then started trying to figure out what I did. I finally reminded him of that recipe I showed him over the weekend. lol It's different but something that will make people go hmmmmm.

Re: Cola Burgers
sounds good, but why will diet cola not work? Is it something to do with the chemicals?
