Have you ever tried this?

Postby Stan41 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 5:38 pm

My favorite way of fixing pork breakfast sausage has always been:

Fry a pan full or pork sausage patties as usual.
When the sausage is done add 2/3 cup of water to the pan with the sausage still in the pan.
Cover the pan, bring to boiling and simmer 2 or 3 minutes.
Remove sausage, split open a hot biscuit, and spoon the gravy over the biscuit.

This makes the sausage soft and moist and the biscuit/gravy is better than the sausage.

I thought Red Eye Gravy was always made with ham juice.

Yep, it is thin. Soaks up a biscuit just right!
