1 lb ground beef
2 lbs ground pork (not pork sausage!)
1 clove of garlic
2.5 tsp allspice
2 TB salt
1 tsp grd. cloves
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup of water
1 onion chopped
6 medium potatoes - mashed
1/2 tsp sage
Mix pork, beef, onion and garlic in pan over medium high heat and cook until meat is no longer pink.
Stir in the rest of the spices.
Simmer 20 minutes covered - 10 minutes uncovered
Remove from heat
Stir in mashed potatoes
Put in pie shells ( 2 - 9" shells ---- I used 13 x 9 pan)
Cover top with dough (store bought pie dough, unless you really wanna make your own)
425 degrees for 15 minutes - 300 degrees for 25 minutes
I used more meat, because I ground my own and it came out over - I added corn, bell pepper, celery.
Next time (on both the meat pie and the shepherd's pie), I might cook the bottomdough for 10 minutes or so, because I thought they were doughy.
