what would the judges think

An observation in chicken round table stated half the chicken judges only taste the breast meat minus the skin. If your rub has a red look to the meat would this coloration affect the scoring. I say this because several years ago an old school cooker told me not to use a rub that gives the white meat a red color. Just wondering.
