I make my own pâté, everyone loves it. I serve with crackers curried onions and pickled gherkins. I do all my own preserving.
Do any of you guys like it or make it.

I make my own chicken liver pate - love it.

I played around with the recipe and kicked out some crawfish pate a while back.

No worries, I get either fresh or frozen chicken livers, approx 300gms. I pull the wee stringy sinew out between the livers. In a pot put 100 gms butter, the livers , 2 bay leaves, 1/2 teaspoon thyme, 3 garlic segments, good shake of pepper, then cook until livers are cooked through. Put it all into a kitchen whizz with 2 tablespoons liqueur, I use the orange flavoured one, can't think of the name ATM. Add 100 Mls cream and process until its smooth as. Pour into 3 ramekins.melt some more butter and pour it over pâté to seal it. Keeps 10 days. As I said serve with crackers gherkins and curried onions. Whatever takes your fancy.
Enjoy

+1. Liver is equivalent to the oil filter of the body, JMHO.

Might as well be like Cousin Eddie and say, "Save that turkey neck for me, Clark!"

Hey outlaw I can promise you it's so easy and worth every bit of the time. When I make it I text my kids and they are all here normally in an hour or so to pick their punnet up. My son eats his in one sitting. Also nice on buttered toast.

Finatic and boots. Don't knock it til you tried it. It's a very rich dish made for fine dining. The stuff you buy in the supermarkets here is bland. But my recipe :chef: :chef: :chef: :chef:

The only food made from liver I can tolerate is braunschweiger. I had an iron deficiency as a child and couldn't take iron tablets for some reason (harsh for my tummy), so the doctor ordered me to eat liver 4 times a week. This went on for about 3 years. Needless to say, I developed an extreme aversion to liver. Yuck!

I like pate pretty well, but I love chicken livers sauteed with caramelized onions, garlic, butter, and lemon juice. Mmmmm good.
