This photo taken Nov. 4, 2009 shows a bacon-wrapped roasted turkey. For anyone looking for a truly indulgent bird for their Thanksgiving feast this bacon-wrapped roasted turkey easily fits the bill. The bacon wrap keeps the bird moist while making the skin nice and crispy.
I think this might be worth trying. Has anyone done this yet?

Re: Bacon-wrapped roasted turkey
I have done this years ago and didn't find that the skin crisped under the bacon. It also left "tan lines" everywhere the bacon was and I didn't like the appearance of the skin. The bacon on top of the bird was tasty though.
Now, I have read where others have done this and really enjoyed the results.

I use that method more often than not with turkeys. When I do it, I replace the bacon as it cooks up -placing new pieces strategically to prevent tan lines. 3 or 4 times during the cook. I don't weave it, rather drape over the breast and drum sticks. Course, this is on the Weber with all vents wide open -guessing 400°+ . I've posted the links several times so no need to post 'em again.
