Anyone like Fried Calamari?

Postby Hj » Sun Aug 08, 2010 5:27 pm

I love calamari ñ recently went to a restaurant

They offered it two ways~

1- was lightly breaded but cut in French -fry style (not circles ñ served with marinara sauce ñ lemon.
always delicious.

But this time they offered it Mediterranean style!

2nd - was Cut ñ breaded-fried calamari cut the same - ñ lots of calamari-with drained artichokes- kalamata or Greek olives ñ crumbled feta cheese with hot caper butter sauce..

Was sooooooooooooo delicious ...

The caper butter is only made with butter -wine or water with lemon juice (fresh ñ - of course the caper butter was heated ñ beat it to be more liquefied ñ little frothy- can add some crushed red pepper flakes or use with fresh lime juice to dip all in. Calamari was not over cooked nor rubbery..

Note~ U could add choped parsley or cilantro leaves if U wanted...

Wish had a picture to share with U all Mouth watering..

Three Star redneck -lol Give U 4 stars to try either use the canned plain or marinated drained cut artichoke hearts ONLY...don't know what UR missing..

Fresh steamed artichokes or stuffed ones are delicious..without the fuzzizes connected them U remove the fuzzies....

Have U ever tried the artichoke hearts?? Do understand but Pappadeaux's also have a simular dish but with lettuce n more...n of course MORE MUCHO Danaro or Dollars...

Golly now I gotta make order of them to go....lol
