Crayfish cocktail for din dins.

Postby Russ » Wed Jul 05, 2017 9:51 pm

:D :chef:

So wife came home last night from work, she was given cooked crayfish meat and some whitebait patties, whitebait are tiny fish which are caught here in nets, cooked whole. It's worth about $100 a kg and is considered a delicacy here. Crayfish is like your lobster almost, especially the tail. So I will make an old fashioned shrimp cocktail into a crayfish cocktail. Can't wait, wife can have toast for all I care, lol.

Wife starts dry retching when I'm cooking seafood, it's funny, lol. She hates seafood. You should see her when I'm eating smoked eel
Love her to bits, she even bought the seafood wrapped up in 4 layers. She thought of me.

Russ, didn't know you were a pony man, they have trotters here (mostly in Indiana, they call them pacers I think). My dad bred Indian race ponies, i.e., Appaloosa's cross bred with Thoroughbreds and Quarters for a hot strain. You might enjoy a little something about his last foal, who my wife still rides and who is coming home to live with us on the Farm before long. Old U Parts was a horseman too, in the day.

Nice read, yeah I used to breed from 5 mares, I think they all left me at least 1 winner, I used to line breed, I bought the tesio programme that gave you certain crosses. I liked breeding 3x3 reverse crosses. Very satisfying picking a sire for my mares that I thought could leave a winner, and succeed. I sold my good mare miss warbucks to Aussie for 40k and they on sold her for 100k. She won a group 1 race. My highlight of breeding. My son lee was a junior driver as well. I prefer trotters over pacers, but I bred a real good pacer who won 2 races then got caught in a fence. I got out of horses about 7 years ago, but still enjoy going to,the races.

Oup and I have a lot in common. All our stock is from American bloodlines, Peter the great and axworthy are 2 I like in bloodlines. These go back to the 1800s from memory. I guess if you giggle those 2 you could find more info on them.
