Phat Puppies ( My take on Hush Puppies )

1 cup of corn meal
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes (ground)
2 Tbsp Cowboy Voodoo (or your favorite rub or seasoning)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp sugar heaping
1 tsp salt
1 ear grilled corn
½ medium sweet onion chopped and sautéed
1 lg egg
1 ½ cups butter milk
½ lb. bacon cooked and chopped in to bits
Vegetable oil

1. Mix all the dry ingredients together
2. Mix in corn, bacon and onions (sauté chopped onion in bacon grease)
3. Mix the eggs and buttermilk together, and then add dry ingredients
4. Make into balls and fry in the vegetable oil, 2-3 minuets

for a sweeter taste that only beer can give, add just 1 cup of buttermilk and then add a ½ cup of your favorite beer.
