Kicked-up Macaroni and Tomatoes

Postby Allie » Wed Sep 12, 2007 8:12 am

Here's a dish I made for dinner last night:

3 slices bacon, chopped
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz macaroni
2 large cans diced tomatoes
Grated cheese (I used Sargento's Smoked Mozzarella and Provolone)

Brown bacon in skillet, add onion. Cook until onion is soft and add garlic. Cook for a minute or so and add tomatoes. Cook on med. heat for about 15 minutes and add macaroni. You may need to add a little water to cook the macaroni. When macaroni is al dente, remove from heat. Pour into a greased casserole and put in 350 oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese heavily on top and place back in oven until it's completely melted.

Wow! That sounds so good! I love Sargento's mixed cheeses! They have a great new salsa jack cheese I really like.
Will put this on a menu!! Thanks for sharing!

Yes Allie, at first your family will think you very strange for taking lots of food pics, but soon, they get used to it!!

They're accustomed to me taking pics when we use the smoker. I just never really think about it when I'm cooking in the kitchen or we're just grilling some burgers or chicken. lol

My son even took pics of hotdogs I made the last time we used the smoker.

I'm really bad at taking pics of the food arranged nicely on the plate!! It gets devoured so fast!
