hey yall doin a beer can chicken this upcoming week and kinda bored online checkin on different recipes instead of my usual...so i figured id ask yall as well, just hit me up if you guys have any ideas always willing to try something new and if yall havent ever checked out stubbs poultry marinade definitely try next time ya do quarters or drummies.

Beer Can Chicken Brown Sugar

1 medium fryer ( washed, dried and internal workings removed
1 large can Beer ( ñ of course some to drink while cooking

Rub
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. paprika
1 T. black pepper
½ to1 T. Monterey Seasoning
1 T. salt
1 T. chili powder (hot or mild
1 ½ T. garlic granular
1 T. onion powder
2 tsps. cumin powder or more
1 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional

Combine all ingredients - reserve in an air-tight container.
Sprinkle chicken inside ñ out with dry ingredients - rub in.
Take 2 swigs beer ñ using Church key beer can opener -make
up to 4 more openings in can top. Pour 1 T. dry rub in can
It will foam!
Using a round pizza pan ñ place beer can in middle of ñ
spread chicken legs - shove can up chickens back end.
This makes a tripod with legs extended.

Using a Grill- use the indirect heat with smoke chips.
-90 minutes on medium heat.

Using oven-set can on round Pizza pan ñ bake 90 minutes 350° F

Chicken over a Can of Beer

1 can or 12 ounces beer
3 ½ to 4 lbs. chicken
2 T. All Purpose Barbecue Rub (recipe link below or your favorite rubs or any seasonings*
2 tsp. vegetable oil
Wood chips-Ur favorite

2 c. hickory- cherry or mesquite wood chips soaked in the beer –covering wood chips 1 hour or more.
Rinse chicken inside ñ out –dry off -season inside of chick how ever U like-rub little oil over outside of chick ñ place seasonings into rest of beer can-might foam –so go easy. Place little oil around opening of can.
Place chicken upright over beer can (so can is holding the chicken –moving legs little forward to hold. Tuck wings behind chicken back or cut them off.

Grill should be ready for indirect grilling ñ medium heat (using soaked wood chips in smoker box.

Use a drip pan on the grill place chick with can into drip pan-cook chick till crisp ñ dark golden brown ñ meat breaks easy from chicken or 180 ° F. with internal thermometer in thickest part of chick.

Remove chicken to platter by removing from beer can. Be careful not to burn yourself.

Note~If chicken becomes to brown to fast cover with some foil
**Seasonings can be anything U like from plain to zesty..
Cajun or Chipotle or garlic n lemon zest -the seasonings are many.

Clean chicken inside n out season inside with what ever U like

Rub out side of chicken with any rubs or seasonings of choice...from chili -cayenne-salt-pepper-garlic granular-to cajun whatever Ur taste buds like

I have filled the beer can almost full with wine n placed lemon n herbs inside before placing that
bird over the can...n grilling or smoking it...

Forgot nnwrap some bacon around the wings n place some inside cavitity with toothpicks..that is really good with garlic salt n pepper sprinkled on the raw bacon before inserting...Enjoy

I start out by drinkin the whole beer! then fill the can half way with Jack Daniels. put in some lea and perrins, and a couple of garlic cloves. I chop of some thyme and rub inside the bird. The night before I rub with Obie Cue's Sweet N Heat rub. Then throw it in the pit
