Cookin a ham

Postby Rooster » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:37 am

I plan on using hog waller during the cook, but I need a simple glaze to make. Does anyone have an easy recipe?

Cherry pie filling cut with a little rum brown sugar and some chipotle in adobo finely diced.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

I've never rubbed my hams, but I do make an injection/glaze by combining pineapple juice, cherry juice, brown sugar, honey & maple syrup. Inject it until it won;t hold anymore and then glaze with the leftovers. Sorry - no exact measurements, but it's pretty easy to throw something together with those ingredients. A little of this and a little of that.

tex :texas:
20" x 40" Party Gator Pit
Custom Mobile Stick Burner
Summerset TRL 32" Built-In Grill
Weber Q2200
48" Custom Firepit
Bertello Pizza Oven

I can't always please everybody. I'm not bacon.

I was just thinking some of that Sucklebuster honey BBQ sauce cut with some orange juice concentrate would fit the bill nicely. I'd try it but I'm hamless just now. Also don't have any frozen OJ concentrate. But I do have the sauce, about a half gallon of it

I would figure about an 30 to 45 mins before you pull it off the pit. Just guessing!
