Lol, I was referencing Hannible Lecter in the " Eating his Liver with Fava Beans " scene in Silence Of The Lambs.

Beans do not go in, on, under, over or around chili in my house.

I like it with beans and make mine with multiple types of beans, Light Kidney, Dark Kidney and Chili beans. Yeah, I not only like it for flavor but to make a pot have more substance and make more chili.
For Cincinnati style chili it goes on top of the chili. If you are not familiar with that type of chili, you're missing out on not only a debated discussion of whether it even qualifies as chili (most call it more a chili sauce)
but also missing out on the absolute yumminess that it is! Please the fun of ordering a 3-way, 4-way or a 5-way! :laughing7: I made it for a church Chili event when I told my pastor it had cinnamon and chocolate it it
he started referring to it as "dessert chili" lol

+1 on the fact that more sorts of beans = more flavor in chili!
It's like that in pretty much every "composed" meal like this one: a burger will be better with a beef patty AND bacon, cuscus will be better with mutton AND chicken AND sausages...
By the way, I've tried an alternative version of chili con carne with chickpeas instead of beans, it's heretical but quite tasty as well.
