I like it both ways....but I never cook with beans in mine. My wife takes my chili and pours it over rice....which is an acquired taste.

Once you add beans its no longer chili, after that you have spicy beef stew.
Good rule of thumb:
There is a special level of heck reserved for child abusers, people who talk in the theater and people that put beans in chili

Beans in chili -YES. Otherwise, it's just meat soup.

I use black beans in my chili.

I don't really understand the fanatical insistence that beans don't belong in Chili. Growing up in West LA and East TX, most Chili had beans in it. That's what I'm most comfortable with. Moving around and trying Chili in other parts of Texas, I grew to love both styles. As long as it tastes good, who cares?

If it has meat it's technically Chili con carne. With regard to beans, who cares? If some one likes to add beans to their Chili more power to them. Personally, I don't put beans in my Chili and I don't put meat it my beans but that's my choice and everyone gets their's.

No matter if beans in or not

I'm a life long native Texan. Chili has always been cooked pretty often in my family. It's always been sometimes beans other times without. As long as it's good chili, it"s good eating either way.

Been watching this one for a while, lol. Soooooo tempted to be evil, throw a bomb and say chili without beans is called hot dog gravy, LOL.

Truth is, I like it both ways myself.
