Chili Fritos

Postby egghead » Fri Jan 27, 2017 10:18 pm

My bride said let's have some chili fritos. I hate when that happens - LOL.

First you need chili - reach for the Sucklebusters Competition Chili. Recipe doesn't call call for and onion or pepper but doesn't seem like cooking without cutting up an onion.

Inaugural chili cook in my new pot - LOL. Maybe it's big enough

Looks like the centerfold of Better Homes and Garden  the talent you have for taking something so ordinary and turning it into a work of art inspires and yet humbles this hopeful wannabe :salut:

EH, if I may quickly share what your subject title reminded me of ? When I was in College almost every afternoon on the way home, I would stop at the local Burger Joint and get me, what they called Frito Chili Pie. Actually, it was just a small bag of Fritos, opened on one side to resemble a ?bowl? and then they would dump some chili and chopped own-yawns in followed by a plastic spoon. Great memory jogger, thanks :salut:

I've never seen a frito pie like that. It's a work of art!

I worked at a burger joint that served the Frito pie just like you described. That was a long, long, long time ago in a state far away before I went to college. BTW - the trees were much shorter when I went to college.
