I just came across a nice chicken recipe using ancho, giggled it and says it poblano, I've never heard of these, wife grows and she hasn't either. She is going to track some seeds down from the site she uses. Do you guys use or grow them and what do you use them in. It says they are a mild capsicum chilly, ancho meaning wide. Help??? Nothing like asking someone that might know.

Very mild - almost no heat but nice flavor. Wonder if you could find some nachos at a specialty grocer or on line.

Another pepper that I always enjoyed using and raising was the Anaheim -- - - zero heat and I used them mostly as a substitute for the bell pepper which my system doesn't tolerate very well.

You can get Ancho peppers on-line here in NZ. tiopablo.co.nz and mexifoods.co.nz are a couple I know of.
I can get them locally here in Wellington, as well as other dried pepper types from a South African shop of all places. 8)

Grow your own, use some fresh and dry some for 'ron.
