not to hijack the thread but any input on a LEM #8 grinder. Good enough for 75-100# a year?

ghrowing up, we used a converted hand crank meat grinder. It wqas the big one that had a pully attached to where the hand crank would go. It would grind as fast as you could put in the meat. We also used a stuffer tube on it and it worked very well.

I have watched others grind meat with the the types that you get from Cabalea etc as it is agonizingly slow. When I get around to making sausage some day, I intend to build a grinder using a large hand crank grinder and electric motor

I have a cabelas 1.5 hp and it does a great job. I cut meat for 25 years and used commericial equipment every day. The cabelas grinder probably is probably as good as they get for a small grinder. I am pleased with mine.
