Patties of Deer and beef

Postby Norway Joe » Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:11 am

The sun is shining and energy is rising.

We bought a few ready made patties of deer and beef at the butcher close to the cabin last week. They have around 40% meat from Deer and rest from beef. Just enough to get the game taste without being too strong

Served with mashed potatoes and creamed gravy, pickles and lingonberry jam.

Very tasty.Image

I've had Deer Sausage made with a 50 - 50 mix and it was really good.
Plate looks good, Joe, how did you cook the Patties ? :salut:

These were precooked so they were just put in the oven to get warm.

When we make them from raw meat we usually fry them in a pan. Unless they are for a burger, of course.

My family loves lingonberry and has almost the same dinner last night except we had a roasted chicken.

Lingonberry is great. We use it all the time. Great with meatballs, pork roast, game, beef patties or waffles (thin) with a tablespoon of sour cream and a couple of teaspoons of lingonberry.

I’ll let them know on the secret sour cream usage.

As a famous American used to say: one more thing:

Whip up 5 dl of cream. Mix with 2 dl lingonberry jam. Make a stack of pancakes with thw cream between. Serve some jam besides.

Great dessert.

Those look like crepes. It reminds me of a dessert I had a long time ago which was chocolate covered meringues with raspberry and raspberry mouse in between. Think of a Big Mac. It was magically awesome. Almost 28 years ago I had it and still my #1 dessert I’ve ever had.
