One question though, do you get a metallic taste from the cast iron?
When I used to use my Dutch oven to make anything tomato based I would get a metallic taste.

Just asking.

Justin,
my 6.5qt dutch oven is enameled for just that reason
anything acidic, especially tomatoes will leach the iron out of castiron and make it taste metallic
they sell the Tramontina 6.5qt enameled castiron dutch oven at Sam's for $40

where I got mine. it's my only piece of enameled castiron.
I bought it for making chili & gumbo
