Castiron Burgers n Unfried Fries
It's been a while since I've done either of these and I realize that I am out of practice but it'll come back to me ?maybe?
I had mentioned doing some Rosie Daley Unfried French Fries the other day so I used a couple small red taters and one medium russet to do these.
Recipe is simple:
Ingredients are sliced taters, two egg whites and tblsp of Cajun Seasoning mixed together.
After you've preheated the oven to 400 spread the soaked taters over a baking sheet that has been sprayed liberally with Pam/Etc.
With rack at the lowest position bake for 40 to 45 minutes turning every 8 to 10 minutes for even browning.
Got to break in my new C.I. and it worked great HOWEVER, I still prefer my patties cooked over charcoal and not so greasy as the C.I. does them. Of course the meat was 80/20 which could have been part of the problem.
For some reason I just wanted Pico, Chez, Jalapeno Gunpowder and Honey Mustard on mine
today.
During the cook I got to laughing at the healthiness of the taters being unfried and ?YET? the meat was swimming in grease during the cook.

I'm embarrassed with the appearance of these taters because I am usually more regimented and keep them more uniform and in line with no extra egg whites every where. They really make good snacks to, especially at "game time, call to post or start your engines but be sure and bake them crisp for snacking. Add a little salt also for snacking - it makes the brew taste better.

Looks good! You could've just poured the left over burger grease on the taters :)

I bet you had it stink'in good in the house, love that smell of burger's cooked in the iron skillet. I like to soak up that burger grease with some sliced onion's and that make's smell even a little better.

Her's was indeed sprinkled with "Worse Ever Shire Sauce" and I had to use pliers to get the top off, if that helps describe it's uses around "my" kitchen.

Looks really good OUP
Makes me want burgers and fries on the menu this weekend.
I like worst ever sauce but for my grilled burgers I add A1 steak sauce to the meat while making up the patties.
