With marinara sauce that a local market sells (I could drink it from a glass!), chopped meat loaf swimming in the sauce, served over rice, topped with chez dust, with a side salad.
Yes, that's canned greens in the background. And a tray, 'cause I felt like it.
It's cold. We're kinda under the weather. This hit the spot.

Thanks, OUP. Canned greens were augmented with soy sauce, hot sauce and ginger. For medicinal purposes.
We've had this 'thing' since Christmas Day. Been swilling tea like mad.

Re: Deconstructed Rice Ball
Even tho I'm not a ( white rice ) fan, I do have to say that it sounds GOOD !
Feel better you two
We know all too well about the crud that's been going round.
I highly , I mean HIGHLY suggest two different options for you guys.
#1 is - 3x a day, drink hot tea w/ honey. Takes a Tablespoon of honey 3x a day as well.
With that, drink a large glass of POM juice. Yeah, I know it's expensive, but it Works ! Finally, chop 1 onion up, lay it on ur nightstand near you when you go to bed, SLICE a second onion and put it in ur socks and back on ur feet when u go to bed...
It's IMPORTANT to Chuck the onions first thing in the morning, and do it again the next night with Fresh onions the following evening.
The onions will pull ( toxins ) from ur body, so u want to get them in the trash as soon as u can.
Some will say this is a myth, but I will argue with that person to the end of days that it does indeed help.
Yeah yeah yeah, I know it all sounds whacked, but take it from someone that gets sick from someone 20 ft away...
Option # 2
Buy some Rock & Rye from the licqour store ( get the one with the fruit ) in the bottle.
Mix it with Hot Tea honey and Cayenne Pepper.
You will sweat like you've never sweat before.
I may be off kilter with some of my food posts, but when it comes to getting better from being sick, I've had plenty of practice.
Hope you both feel better :)

Re: Deconstructed Rice Ball
Wooden is on the right track, I just roll different:
Double shot quality Bourbon, tablespoon real butter, tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrple. Bring to hot temp slowly in saucepan or microwave. Stir vigorously until all dissolved and cools to warm temp. Sip slowly while sitting in hot tub or hot bath. Results enhanced if spouse or spousal equivalent agrees to sit in and provide back rub.
Repeat as necessary to achieve desired results.
Pretty soon you’ll not only feel better, you’ll start looking forward to getting sick.

Re: Deconstructed Rice Ball
Thanks, everyone.
WV, some day I will tell you my rock 'n' rye story....and you will understand why I can never ever even LOOK at it again.
We're at the tail end of this thing anyway. Ten inches of snow coming tonight....today' might reach 30°! Open question: do we even attempt to grill a steak outdoors?
Bourbon's starting to sound good.

Re: Deconstructed Rice Ball
I just saw a post on FB about the onion detoxify method. I know I have used the patches on soles of my feet when doing chemo and they would be black in the morning from all they pulled out. I'm going to give it a try with the onions.

Re: Deconstructed Rice Ball
Did it mention anything about dealing with having to sleep alone during the process

Thanks everyone. We're slowly on the mend, even without raw onions.
