Indoor grill-marked steak
Not much going on by way of cooking lately, with the Cold That Lasts Forever, and Pouring Rain. But strip steaks were on sale. This one was marinated in a commercial 'Carolina' Q-sauce, then grilled on a glazed or enameled CI pan with ridges. Taters 'n' onyawn side, and a Greekish salad.
Meat wasn't bad! But the pan, allegedly nonstick, is still in the sink.

T thought this steak was quite good (and I'm not much of a steak person). Of course, It took me longer to clean the !@#$%^& ridged pan than it did to eat the steak.

Re: Indoor grill-marked steak
Now I know what to make for dinner tonight!! The look on the steak is perfect. I certainly feel your pain about that pan. I used to have one similar to it; it was a red enameled, square cast iron thing. About 10.5" pan I think. Enamel was on the backside. Thing was a nightmare to clean because in order to achieve the desired grill marks it was designed for, it had to be really hot, pretty much to the point of ruining a cure on it. This post is also funny and coincidental... I am due for a delivery today from Amazon today of another one!!

I've been trying to find one to use on my Grills that doesn't have the long handle - - - no luck so far and I may just have to wack off a handle and be done with it.

Good luck with your new pan, TD.
Ours is red enamel on the outside, as you described for your old one.
