Sailor,
Yes, there Actually is room for a third house directly across from us. Probably a few hundred houses, roughly 10,000 acres :):)
I'm gonna have to Definitely do some preserves. Blackberries are a weekness for me. Debs weekness is Strawberries..
Evan could live on Bananas and Strawberries if we let him lol.
Bondobill,
They were amazingly good, Actually GREAT !! Now I know in the future I can get excellent tender ribs in about 1/2 the time it takes on the Akorn.

Sorry Chris, castironchris wrote:Those look outstanding WV!! I probably missed it with my drool addled brain and eyes only focusing on the ribbies but would you share the recipe for the strawberry sauce??
Another long day and it was too late last night.
Basically doubled the recipe, but below is the jist of it for a ( single ) batch.
1 lb Fresh Strawberries
1 TB Strawberry Preserves
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp 5 Spice
1/2 TB Garlic Powder
1/2 TB Oniin Powder
1/2 TB Dry Mustard
1/8 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1 TB Maple Syrup
1 & 1/2 TB Molasses
1 TB Worcestershire
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Ketchup
I took the Strawberries and put them on a baking tin, cut in half and at 375 for about 30 minutes.
Then put them outside to cool off a bit.
Then in a sauce pan, I put in the berries AND liquid and then added ALL of the other ingredients.
Bring to a quick boil and then a simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring Very Often as to not burn it.
That's pretty much it, it's very very tasty that's for sure.

I'd be Shocked if you didn't love it !castironchris wrote:Seems like it would be delicious!! I may try it out this weekend on some ribbies!
I gave some ribs to a guy I work with yesterday and covered them in the sauce. All he did was carry on all day about how good the ribs and sauce were. He makes his own preserves, peanut butter,slaw,scrapple...etc etc and said that sauce was was out of this world. As for the ribs, he couldn't believe they came from the BE.
We bought him a brand new Big Easy a month ago for his ( early ) retirement, now he can't wait to use it.
If you make some, let us know what you think ok ?

Mine isn't a Big Easy but it's designed the same except it's electric - - - it does turkeys perfect so I may just have to do some Reebies in it soon - - - However, I will be bugging you for more details at that time
