Smashburgers!!!!

Postby bsooner75 » Sun May 06, 2018 7:25 pm

After castironchris posted about the Blackstone break in there was no doubt smashburgers were on the menu for tonight. The burgers were accompanied by SPG dusted griddle fries.

Pre smashed the burgers between two sheets of wax paper. I think this will be my new method. They came out perfect.

Thanks for looking and I hope y’all all had a wonderful weekend!

I made mine Saturday night as well. Came out delicious and I swear they were even better on the Blackstone than the way I usually do them on cast iron. I need to learn how to do those taters....

They are easy! I wash, then slice, coat w/ olive oil and roll em around in SPG. Toss them on the griddle and let them cook. They take a little longer than most things I cook on the griddle but they turn out great.

Probably the only thing that would have made them better :)

Funny you should mention Smashburgers... made some the other night. Rather than start a new thread I'll simply highjack Sooner's :chef:

No bacon here either but my little twist is the Fried Onions out of the can... quick way to add flavor and (as they say on Chopped) a textural component. :thap:

Yup... taters are da' bomb on da' Blackstone. I like to cube them about 1/2" square and follow Sooner's advice. I'll cover mine the first 10 minutes to steam them. A cheap cake pan from the Dollar Store makes a great steamer. After that I go Crazy Ninja Hibachi and keep 'em moving until they look right. Twenty minutes minimum if you're planning your cook.
