Members Memory Lunch
Today's Lunch was not very creative but it brought back memories of 2 of our members.
Ol "Newzie" Russ and our recently departed "Salmon Smoking" Bondo Bill.
It was Russ that turned me onto twice fried taters and I'm hooked now, even tho they're a little trouble to do.
The beer battered Tilapia was complimented with Atkinson's Seafood Dry Mix that Bondo Bill sent me last year.
The taste of everything was second only to have had them hanging out in the Kitchen with me.
That Green Stuff is what I ?thought? were Snow Peas but turned out instead to be Etta Mommies (Edamame)- - - just strip the peas out between your teeth and throw the husk away.
OH, and remember to wear your reading glasses all the time when grocery shopping.

Re: Members Memory Lunch
Awesome plate, I'd devour all that in a heartbeat. Twice fried is worth it, some even do it three times. There was a question on the chase (English quizz show) about where is tilapia from, I knew the answer, I even surprised my wife, lol.
I'll find you a funny clip from the chase.

No Doubt that Laughter is Contagious
thanks, Y'all, it was unhealthy but very good.
Pard, there are people in Texas that raise Tilapia for sale to markets and individuals as well - - - just like the ever popular Catfish.

Yuppers, I'm up with the play on that, though off topic I thought you might like this as well, laughter is contagious. We like this English news programme, the guys name is phill Schofield and he's a KIWI. He's huge in the uk. I love these 2.together

Excellent plate, OUP! We like Etta Mommie here, too. Sometimes you get them as an appetizer in Japanese restaurants.

Re: Members Memory Lunch
Looks great to me, OUP.
Twice dipped fries are the only way to do it too. Crispy outside, soft inside, all delicious. Well, they actually turn out fairly close doing them in an air fryer also, and there's no grease.
Edamame... Probably already know, but they're Japanese peas. Name literally means "beans on a branch". They're popular in some circles ( *cough* sushi crowd *cough* ), but with them having to be cooked in the shell and the shell not being edible, they're definitely an acquired taste. One common way is cooking in garlic and a bit of oil and soy sauce.

They're soybeans....I use dried soybeans as pie weights.
