Made some deer goulash the other day.
That´s the way my grandma told my mom and my mom told me.
One important thing is ONINS.
slowly roasted in lard for an hour or longer
this is the way you bring color to the goulash
We season the goulash just with a few things.
Salt
Pepper
Parika
Marjoran
In this case I used smoked paprika and a little more black pepper for the bite.
And a good dark beer.....one for the Dutch and one for me.

Re: Deer Goulash
Looks and Sounds good to me, D.D. - - - especially the pot liquor - - - I have found that Goulash is a funny name for Recipes that may be completely different, "depending on the Location" and upbringing of the individual Person. When I cook it, it contains things like Ground Beef, Elbow Mac, Rotels and whatever needs using in the Frig.

Re: Deer Goulash
I saw a lot of Goulash.
With bell peppers and other veggies.
This is the way we cook it in my area.
Simple with a few things.
I think goulash is like chili.
There are a kazillion ways to cook it.
Oh oh!!!!
SORRY, I know I´m in a texan forum and there is just one way of cooking chili
