The harvest is in full effect right now. Worth the wait and effort.

Yup so good right now. I’ve got about 100-120 either ready to eat now or over the next 14 days.

They pop in your mouth as you eat them not overly sweet. I love them. My wife cut a few in a bowl adds milk, now almond milk, and a bit of sugar. I just eat them by the fig.

Well, not telling you what to do but asking you to research, they're not ripe and sweet in Texas until they turn brown :dont:

Different varieties. Mine are California ones which are green and fairly rare. The blackish fig you see more often. Never seen brown ones.

Nevr seen a Black fig and green ones here aren't ripe as with most all fruit; that's unique

Yup it’s a blackish purple looking one. Some are pale, green, the purplish black and a red one.

The late great Creole Chef Don Prudhomme had a great recipe for fig gravy that I've altered and used for years during Thanksgiving and Christmas with Smoked Goose. It is a sweet and spicy sauce that can be used with duck, chicken or any poultry for that matter. Absolutely divine! Smoked goose has the consistency of smoked ham and makes for an excellent conversation piece during the Holiday's for folks who are not familiar with this delicacy.
