New year's dinner

Postby Norway Joe » Mon Dec 31, 2018 2:27 pm

What are you cooking for new year's dinner?

We made some guacamole and tortilla chips for starter. Then a beef tenderloin with Hasselback potatoes, broccoli and bearnaise. For dessert a pannacotta with strawberry and lime coulis on top. A glass of a good Italian ripasso redwine was fitting today.

Feel free to post whatever you make for tonight's dinner.

Wish you all a happy new year.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Placeholder, as we haven't cooked yet.

But the plan is homemade pizzas, bubbly, home made cookies and s'mores for dessert.

Of course, forgot that you are 7 hours behind us. Russ is probably already well into 2019. :laughing7:

Great looking tenderloin and meal Mr Joe. Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope the Fonz nabbed a bit of that tenderloin to start the new year offf right. Russ is at the race track at western springs, watching the Americans give sprint car lessons down there right now. Been some big races down there this past week.

Like Chef T-Dragon - - this will be my place holder also. Unfortunately the Wife is in the Hospital so my Planned New Years Day Cabbage Patch Stew (Superstition Stew) with Cabbage (for Good Luck) and Jalapeno Blackeyed Peas (for Prosperity) will have to wait a day or so. Probably side it with a skillet of sweet yeller Martha White's Cornbread also. If they release her in time tomorrow then we may make the deadline but, if not, then who knows. :dont:

I didnt get as many pictures as I wanted to, but we had a great night with my sister in law, some of our dear neighbors and their parents.

An absolutely phenomenal bubbly

That Taittinger champagne is fantastic. Did you know turkey and champagne is a great combo?

Pizza on the grill is delicious. Yours look great. Everytime we find pineapple in the food we call it Hawaiian style so that would be a pizza Hawaii to me. HPN.

OK, time to use up my Place Holder for New Years Dinner.
Finally got the Wiffy home from the Hospital and snuggled in tight. Then I went to chasing myself around the kitchen until I came up with some Cabbage Patch Stew (for New Years Resolutions - Good Luck and Prosperity ?) along with a skillet of Cornbread.

I ate way too much and she enjoyed hers as well. Even said that this might just be my best ever with this Recipe from Miss Bettye Kelly.
