Ripper Wrapper Lunch

Postby OldUsedParts » Fri Jan 04, 2019 2:19 pm

Had one more link sausage that needed digesting so I decided to Rip it and then Wrap it in some Chili Farmer Torts :salut:

HEB now has a Jalapeno Bacon that I really like and will be using often.

Fry in Canola Oil

Grated some Pepper Jack on one of the two torts and then nuked it

Mixed some Sooner Sauce and Creamy Pepper together on the other tort.

Stacked everything together with a tad bit of homemade Salsa in with the Ripper

Folded and Ready for the Mouff - - you can easily hold it in one hand but you need two hands to eat it and not wear it :whiteflag:

They look so good. Have to try frying rippers. Never done it before. Do you fry them in a pan or do you use a deep fryer?

I did a couple of these the other night, just rolled them on a cast iron griddle. The wife said these would be good fried in oil to get them crispy :whiteflag: :whiteflag:

Yes, that's the way I do it too and they don't get as crispy as oup's. I was wondering if I need a deep fryer or a pan with 1-2 centimeter deep oil is enough.

I'll let OUP answer that one, for my next try I'm gonna wrap 4 that is two for each one of us, and put 1/4 inch or so of oil in a cast iron skillet and fry those bad boys and see what she says then....

Since I only do one or two of these when fixing them, I pour about a half inch of Canola Oil in the bottom of a small pan that's just big enough for the Ripper to fit down into and then I roll/turn as it cooks until I get it the way I like it. Then I put it on a paper towel while getting the bun or tortilla ready. I've even been known to save the oil by running it thru some cheese cloth into a pint jar and into the frig for two more cooks. :dont: ?cheap skate maybe?

I'll try that next time I have rippers but with potatocakes of course. They look really good.

Since we're talking about diet here, these healthy diet rippers should be good for mister creosote from the the movie Monty Pythons meaning of life, too. It's only a wafer thin.
