if you think the pecans are good with bourbon and sugar seasoning, wait till you add the smoke to the mix :pig: :pig:

Not to hijack anyone else's St. Patrick's Day thread, this is what we had for breakfast today: a NuWave Reuben.

Still digesting it. :laughing7:

After looking at that, I think I'd be celebrating Patty's Day many times a year  :salut:

We haven't put it away yet! Does things like nacho 'fries' and sammies and roasted vejables and toasted nuts to perfection BUT I can't get meat to brown. Maybe you do have to coat it in oil? :dont:

So very weird.
I've seen your posts about the meat not Browning. I know I've done a 4 boner Prime Rib in ours when we had it.
It cooked it to absolute perfection along with a nice Crust. And that was done with an internal of 130.
I did however lightly hit it with Yellow Mustard and then a Prim Rib Seasoning.

I know you Won't get a Sear like a hot charcoal grate, but you " should " be able to get some kind of " Browning " on it.
You have the meat as close to the top of the unit in guessing ?

Steaks probably won't be good for Browning because they are done in a lot less time than say a Prime Rib.

Let me suggest something ok ?

Try getting a whole Bird and lightly hit the skin with yellow mustard or EVOO.
Then season it and cook it on high.
If, I mean IF you don't get a beautiful crispy darkened skin and perfection regarding moistness in the white meat than something is wrong with that unit.

We haven't cooked whole cuts of meat in there, just a couple steaks and thin marinated pork chops. The steaks were VERY good in spite of no real browning. The chops were leathery, no browning at all, and we only choked down a couple bites.

We will be trying salmon later this week. But I can see how a big cut of meat would brown...the brussells sprouts browned really well.

We might go for a game hen. It's almost impossible to find small whole chickens here.

We just picked up some salmon today, so we'll try it soon in the NuWave.

So far, this is our favorite new appliance, especially in terms of usefullness/cost. :D

I was hoping that you and Sailor hated it so I could buy it from you

Seriously tho, its a pretty amazing piece of equipment.
Wait till you do a loaf of homemade bread or Pizza

I've done Stuffed Salmon in it and it was super moist on the inside and a nice Crust in the outside.

I enjoy reading your posts and seeing ur pics while experimenting with it !
