On ur left hand, touch your thumb to your index finger.
Now with your right hand, use ur index finger and poke at that ball of flesh just below the base of ur thumb on ur left hand.

That's what a Rare steak should feel like.

Next finger will be medium to medium rare.

Next will be medium to medium well.

And the pinky finger will be closer to well done.

Some may call this b.s. and I'm ok with that because I was once one of those that didn't believe it, but its always worked for me every time.

Just a little something to try.

This is a "spot on" method in my opinion, I have used it for years, While a thermometer is the most accurate way, when in the back woods of nowhere this will work quite well. :thap:

Haha, never! Though, if we see another at a yard sale or such, we'll snag it for ya.

This appliance KILLS for snacks and fries, too. Does those frozen fries in less time with less fuss.

Our latest, spiced sugared nuts. (Next time I'll probably use some SB or other)

The nuts came out real good. We got the idea from a NuWave cookbook we found at the library (the only NuWave cookbook in our entire county library system).

I'd make a meal out of just them !!

Hmm, some spritzed heated Whirl on them and some Cinnamon Sugar and Cayenne, that would be awesome.
I've never had any NW cook books, however there are quite a few YouTube vids on the NW with lots of interesting cooks.

Glad you two are experimenting with it

It's important that they follow the correct ratio tho with the Bourbon...
It's 1 oz in the glass for every 1 Spritz right ST ?
And I say, Spritz OFTEN

I did some almonds a while back and used the bourbon to wet the almonds prior to brownsugar & seasoning mix being applied plentifully, they were great, smoked for a couple hours prior to the bourbon spritz then loading with sugared seasoning then smoke about another hour to create the crispy outer shell.

Well, bourbon was used in these. Okay, brandy, actually...

Second batch of nuts. Excellent. SB TX Pecan on them. And then, we made the usual oyster cracker snack mix with ranch shake. Also excellent.

We did asparagus with bacon and onions. I will again use the word excellent.

But we can NNNOTT get meat to brown! The marinated pork chops were so awful (tough, yet still pink) that we choked down a few slivers, then actually tossed them.
