New toy again!!!
So my latest addition to my collection is a 90 quart crawfish boiler. I was super excited till I got home and opened it and found out the lid was bent!!! Oh well back to Wal-Mart tomorrow.

It took 31 min for 11.5 gallons of cold tap water to come to a rolling boil. How does that compare to everyone else's burners?

Great score JC, I've had a " Steamer " pot just like that for about 15 years, Love it .
As for 31 minutes, that seems a little long.
It all depends on the burner itself.
Do you know what the BTU rating is ?

180000 but double jet burner. With a 10 psi regulator. The water was ice cold when I started. How long does it take your burner to achieve rolling boil? What btu burner do you have?

If I recall, mines a single 75,000 but its so old I can't be sure. For some reason that # is stuck in my head. As for time, I've never timed it but I know last year we used it and I thought it got hot pretty quick. It wasn't Iced Cold but it was definitely cold water. 11 gallons is alot of water

Re: New toy again!!!
Time it takes to boil depends on a lot of variables.. BTU of your burner, altitude, mineral content of the water. 31 minutes for 11 gallons is pretty good honestly, considering it takes about half that for just a gallon of water on a standard stovetop.
