One box of saltines. I'm lost after that. I think she mixes one or two packets of ranch dressing mix, some dried red pepper flakes. Pours that mix over the crackers and mixes everything together. Covers for about an hour.

Here's mine:
Crackers

1 box saltine crackers (4 sleeves)
1 cup canola oil
1 pkg hidden valley ranch dressing (dry)
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Place crackers in 10 X 13 tupperware container with lid.
Flip back and forth.
Eat

Mahalo Stan...

Will try both recipes. I have some Hawaiian friends flying up in 2 weeks from SoCal and I will serve them both. We always serve "pupu" during our "talk story and suck 'em up" time (shoot the breeze and have some drinks!).

PT, my mom used to make those oyster crackers and we loved them. I haven't had those in years.

Never tried them on saltines but I bet they'd be good!

I found a similar recipe on another site......

Firecracker Saltines

4 sleeves of saltines
1-1/3 cup canola oil
1 package Ranch dressing mix
1.5 tsp of pepper flakes.

Pour over crackers and tumble every 15 minutes for an hour! I think that's it.
