Haven't made fish soup in a long time so figured it was time to cook it today.
This is a very flavorful and filling g soup with lots of ingredients and spices but well worth the time.
Here's the recipe if you want to try.
Dice 3 potatoes and set to boil while preparing the rest. Remove when done.
5 carrots cut in matchstick size
5 spring onions
1 leeks
3 garlic cloves.
1 tsp of curry
Fry in a pot with a little olive oil.
Add the following:
1.5 liter of fish stock
3 tbsp of chives
1 tbsp of parsley
1 tbsp of turmeric
1.5 tsp of thyme
2.5 dl of cream
1 tbsp of juice from a squeezed lemon
A little bit of chili powder
Add a tsp of garlic powder or more at your own taste.
Let simmer for 10 minutes
Cut a filet (whitout skin) of sea trout in dices of 1x1" and add to the pot after the 10 minutes simmer above. Add the potatoes and let it simmer until fish is done (2-3 minutes)
Serve with peeled shrimps and some good bread.

Joe. when I first saw your post here, I thought it might be Kin to what we call Creole Fish Courtbouillon (koo beyond) but it has way more ingredients and spices than that. Sho sounds and looks good tho and, who knows, I may giv'er at try sometime.

Breaded fish sticks is a favorite of my wife and the boys. I hate it, but we have it for dinner about every other week (If I don't figure it out before dinner and stop by the grocery store and pick up something better) . I've found eating it with lots of mayonnaise helps.Sailor Kenshin wrote:I read that as 'fish STICKS' and almost stopped reading.

I'm not so very fond of fish but this soup is great and I highly recommend it if you want a warming soup. I guess most fish or mussels could be used.

I guess many dishes picks up inspiration from many parts of the world. Probably this soup too. I got this recipe after a fishing trip to the Danish island Bornholm some years ago.OldUsedParts wrote:Joe. when I first saw your post here, I thought it might be Kin to what we call Creole Fish Courtbouillon (koo beyond) but it has way more ingredients and spices than that. Hey Joe, trying this soon. Didn’t see how much fish - do you think a pound would do?

Cool. I think a pound is fine. We used about 500 grams and that's about 1 pound I think.egghead wrote:Hey Joe, trying this soon. Didn’t see how much fish - do you think a pound would do?
We had this as a dinner for 4 and it was enough leftover for a lunch for two.
I would maybe reduce to 4 carrots. Especially if they are big.
