I grow my own okra in my garden. I love to fry it up with 50% flour 50% corn meal after I soak it in a small amount of milk and Cajun seasoning.
Fry it at 350 degrees until it is golden brown. Great snack or appetizer.

Lopks good! Okra is the only thing making in my garden due to the heat. I love okra fried, boiled, or just any way.

I love fried okra and yours looks to be no exception. I will have to plant a few of those bad boys here in the near future.

Re: Fresh Fried Okra - pics & video
SS, I bet you have some more okra or will be getting a second crop in that you can use in gumbos this winter. When it gets cold (around 75* ) it's gumbo time at our house.
Smothered a bunch of okra a while back that will be used in chicken okra gumbo and shrimp okra gumbos over the winter.
8 pounds of okra
2 pounds of roma tomatoes
2 pounds of onions
Ran all of the above through the food processor and put them on the grill at 300* for six hours. Gave the okra a stir every once in a while. Actually the smothered okra tasted great by itself and would be a good side dish.
Packed away in quart containers and into the freezer for this winter's gumbos.
