Postby The Bundling » Mon Feb 18, 2013 3:07 pm

I guess its free with Entry in a comp i just signed up for? Is it better to go safe (like beans or Mac) or risky/unique (like Smoked Rockey Mountain oysters or Buh Mi sandwiches)???

It may vary from region to region, but around here just about any kind of jalapeno wrap will get you a call. The last comp I did, last year, winning entry was ribeye and shrimp.

Might melt before they get around to judging it. Depending on the amount of teams, your entry could sit on the table for half an hour.

85% of the time....around here...shrimp is always in the top 3 if not #1.........remember the main trick to winning an OPEN category ....Is it has to be a great comfort food.....works every time... :pig:

I agree with Jeff on this one...it seems that some variation of bacon wrapped shrimp wins more than not.....I believe I've seen some call it diablo shrimp.

He hit the nail on the head. Although does it win 85% of the time because its that good?? Or because 95% of the teams cook it?? Cant tell you how many teams Ive seen dfo bacon wrapped shrimp or something of the like... Geeesshhhh
