Looking great, both the Chevy and the smoker. I had a 71 chev., and too wish I had it back. Great work on the smoker. I am looking for time to get back onto my build.Image

Bobbergone, Me and a buddy were just talking about "barn doors" on his pit like those. Anxious to see how they work for you!

Scott what it did for me was increased the area volume in the cook zone, and no heavy doors to contend with. By going with the single pin hinge this eliminates any binding when doors swing. It makes it more user friendly regardless who the person attending the cook is.

The progress is slow but at least it's something. Got the handles mounted and the fb door completed.

Got the plenum built and stack mounted. Also hung the axle. Just have donut spares on it right now so I can move it around in my shop.

It's been a while but I finally got the pit finished for the most part. Once I was able to cook with it I started using it rather than spending the time to finish it up, lol. I plan to add side rails a propane burner to the front still. I like the way it turned out and am already planning my next build!

150 gallon build

Postby RafaelAneDa » Mon Mar 27, 2017 1:43 am

Like to get some thoughts on setup for this build. Its an odd dimension 30x30x24, so Id like to get some thoughts on lighting, etc. Thanks
