Yes I used the calculator. I messed up some how and ended up making the opening bigger than it should of been. Not sure if If there is a good way to fix it without lowering the firebox.

The 6" exhaust will be fine make it 24" tall and build a 8" x 8" plenum and increase your opening on the wall so the heat smoke can travel around the grate.

We ended up raising the exhaust so it would be above the grate level.
On the fb to cc opening, instead of removing the fb and lowering it, I used the damper plate to go down to 6.5 inches to make the opening smaller. Do you think that will work? I’ll have to take some more pictures tomorrow.

Btw for my own info did you use seals around the doors etc?

Sorry for the late reply. I did not use any gasket or material to seal it. I am thinking about trying to use something. I little smoke escapes and it bothers me
