Advice/ideas/question for trailer pit warmer
Hey y'all, I have begun my first pit on a trailer and want to incorporate a warmer on the fire box, I was wanting suggestions on how to build it, do i leave a gap between the box's, should I make the side walls one peace as far as the fire box and warmer being one sheet of steel. Any help with be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Please post pics if you have some.

It's a work in progress that I just started. I'm picking up the new axle, leaf springs, fenders tommrow, but this is just the beginning. The trailer is on blocks now with old suspension taken off it.

You could carry your firebox plate up to create the three sides of your warmer I have seen a lot done that way. I usually build the box with no bottom and weld it to the top of the firebox. The firebox top is the bottom of warmer.

That sounds good. It would probably look cleaner that way also. How hot does yours usually get and hold at?

When cooking around 275° the warmer runs between 165° and 200°.

Temps that high you could also cool ribs in it couldn't You? Smoke them for an hour and half or so and then finish them in the warmer.

I guess you could I have a slide door on mine that allows heat/smoke to enter it if I choose to do so.. I just use it to keep my pans of food warm though.
