I was wondering if anyone knows a person who can modify a pit in my back yard for me. I would like to remove the smoke stacks from the top of the chamber and move them towards the middle of the chamber.
I am located in Houston (Galleria Area)

Just a thought but sometimes you can get that kind of work done from your Local School that possibly has a welding/ETC Shop Class.

Re: Pit Modification
i've got the 30" T-Pit from Johnson Smokers - http://www.johnsonsmokers.com/30-t-pit/
but i forgot to tell him to move the smoke stacks lower.
using a digital probe, i measured a 30 degree variance between top and bottom grate
i also have an offset from lone star grillz, it has the stack at bottom grate level. top and bottom vary by 10 degrees

Re: Pit Modification
Upper and lower grate levels always have a variance. I have a 30 inch by 7 ft Klose, and my grate temps vqary from 15 to 20 degrees from level to level.
