HELP, ADVICE, OPIONIONS. Stack diameter.

Postby Mattm » Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:12 am

I am building a trailer pit, and iam using a 250 gallon propane tank. I have been trying to go by the Feldons pit calculator but it says I need a 12inch diameter stack, seems a little excessive to me. How accurate is the site? I'm going to do a 30x24 fire box and thought about doing one 8inch stack instead. Wondering what yall recommend and what others have gone with that works.

The calculator is very accurate if you follow it correctly.
I plugged in your number but wasn't sure on the firebox being round or square so i went round and came up with a 6" exhaust 30" tall. If in fact your firebox is 30" diameter and 24" long you really need a larger one as you are only at 88%.
I hope this helps. :D
