New guy question

Postby ronrickettsjr » Sun Oct 14, 2018 9:50 am

Great forum with lots of knowledge here. I have an experimental build going and I have a firebox question. I have 30x48 half of propane tank. I'm building a vertical smoker with it, with the firebox directly below. I am at 77% of Feldon's with my firebox I was going to use.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Not a pit builder by any stretch of the imagination but the fire box being 23% to small seems like an issue that may be hard to overcome.

I'm not a pit builder yet :D The vertical I'm slapping together is built from scrap. With the FB directly under the chamber I could never find any good info if the FB needed to be say the same size as a reverse flow. Worst case it will eat a little more wood. The FB is out of 1/2" plate pieced together. I'm calling it " One ugly mutha". Ill try to post some pics later.

Thanks for the response

Ron
