Ummmm, no. Maybe move the pit to the other side of the yard if you are friendly with him. If not, see Rambo’s response.

I wouldn't think you could do anything about the smell but any kind of air movement should change the accumulation during travel. :dont:

In a way I can relate, one of my neighbors grills on kingsford two or three times a month and soaks the cubes with tons of lighter fluid.
That stuff stinks to high heavens and really does keep me out of my back yard for a few hours.
In order to be a good neighbor, and if trying to run "clear blue smoke" is not good enough, then some sort of fan placed on the ground and blowing more or less straight up should disperse enough to at least demonstrate you care enough to try.
If they are meat eaters you might consider offering up some fresh smoked grub (which may indeed be what they are after anyway).

Should be interesting......if there's a city ordinance that applies then it should apply to all grills, fireplaces, leaf piles and pipe smokers.....

Be carefull out there with this kind of domestic dispute because it can quickly get outa hand. My suggestion to you would be go to the City yourself and find out what "THE LAWS ARE" - - - once you know that, you can FIGHT the HONEST FIGHT - - - - you might even speak with a Lawyer if it gets to escalating too far and fast - - - - - BUmmer that you should have to go thru this but from what I've seen in my Life - - - - it happens a lot and can get ugly if not handled properly and could possibly spill over onto your Wife? and Kids? Good Luck with this (#^(%#^_&_+_)*@! :angryfire:

I know your right OUP but ugly doesn't even begin to apply to someone going at the wife or kids. I'm just old school that way. Much better to deal with me and me alone.

But do find out for yourself the city laws.
