PROBE PORT HELP INSTALL

Postby Michael0506 » Wed Nov 28, 2018 7:08 pm

I bought a Probe Port and it says to drill the final hole at 27/32", is there an equivalent measurement too that, I can't find a 27/32! I was wondering if there is a step drill bit I can use and what size would be equal, I dont see 27/32 on any step bit!

this is the Probe Port I bought,

Well 26/32 is 13/16 1/32 smaller than it calls for 24/32 is 3/4 3/32 small than called for they make a tapered reaming bit (like a step bit but no steps) that you could use to enlarge to fit....

27/32 is .84375" and my step bit (from a Harbor Freight set) has a step that is .855" only .011 larger that is darn close.

Hope this helps.

Excuse my ignorance but does it really make that much difference as long as the probe will fit with not too much wobble :dont:  :?:

27/32" is kind of an odd ball bit. Mostly used by machinist. I've got most of my dad's bits but 25/32" was as close as I have. Did find one on e-bay however. Not a bad price even if it's a one time use.
