replace burner barrel

Postby CharlieS » Thu Apr 04, 2019 11:18 am

I have a New Braunfuls smoker that is about 17 years old and need to replace the burner section barrel. Where is a good place to get these? Live in central Texas.

If it's made of 1/4 inch metal (perhaps as thin as 3/16) you could take it to a welder/welding shop and see what they say.
My advice would be to sand blast is before taking to the welder.
Sandblast guys charge less per hour than welders, who would have to do the cleaning before they could start repairs.
You may find that a used smoker would cost the same or less than having it repaired.

If it is just the bottom. A welding shop could roll a 3/16" piece of plate and skin the bottom. Is the firebox bolted or welded on? If bolted you may get a replacement here: https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/g ... parts.html
Always remember slow and steady wins the race.
